Ramblings by Doc Medich-September 2014
Riding season is going by so fast, warp speed, to say the least. Gary Bergey and the road captains have done a solid job this year planning events and many of our members are going on the rides and attending the events. Planning of the rides, execution (doing the ride), participation, and safety are important factors. With the fall season underway new obstacles that require awareness present themselves. Trees losing leaves and animals crossing the road we ride are just a few that raise the awareness of what is going on around you during the ride. Be safe out there and enjoy the activities.
We have some major events heading our way over the next few months. I hope you will give them your full support. They are as follows:
- 10/18/14: The Tri State chili cook-off at Hannum’s HD in Media. John Worthington is preparing his chili for the last time this year so let’s all get out and support him. I will be leading a ride down to Hannum’s. More detail will be posted on the website.
- Election activity will start at our October meeting. The current officers will share their intentions for the 2015 board. For me, I have given this careful thought and even though I have said multiple times I was retiring, I would like to give it one more year (if you all will have me). 2015 is a year of major change (more to come on that).
- BACA’s toy run in October; Lehigh Valley’s toy run in November. Let’s get out in numbers to support both of them.
- Chrome Ball in December – the ultimate GALA event – We reserved the large room at Marjeane’s so let’s fill it to the hilt.
In closing please continue to support Dean’s for all your motorcycling needs. And, especially, get in and check out the 2015 models – very nice.
Later…..DOC
